After a long hiatus, I’ve decided to reboot my newsletter. The summer was a whirlwind for all of us I’m sure. I hope your portfolios are not exceptionally bloody.
In this newsletter, I will share some words of encouragement with respect to Bitcoin. Then I have some updates on what I’ve been working on, followed by where I’d like to take this newsletter next.
The Market is a Wreck
If you weren’t paying attention to the markets for the last few months, I don’t blame you, they’re a wreck. Bitcoin is sitting at -77% from its all time high which took place this time last year. Here are some important things from the past few months I think you should know.
Not your 🔑, Not your 🧀
I was not exposed to the Celsius, LUNA, or FTX crash. If you were, then you’ve learned a lesson that many Bitcoiners have had to learn, sometimes multiple times.
Not your keys, not your crypto
Not your keys, not your bitcoin
“Not your 🔑, Not your 🧀”
Brad Mills is one of the best resources out there as far as sane commentary on the happenings in the crypto sphere. He called the Celsius crash months before it all went down. If you’re not following him, and you hold more crypto than BTC, you probably should be. Check out his podcast too.
LESSON: If you’re not holding the majority of your coins in cold storage, you probably should.
I’ve Been Building
The last time I worked professionally as a programmer was 4 years ago. I missed it. I’ve grown a lot as an individual because of my writing, but what was missing from my life was building.
New Website
I put together a new keeganfrancis.com. It’s super bare bones at the moment, but I’m intending on it being a central link-building, presence-building, spot for me on the internet. Plus I got to tinker with some new skills.
Sazmining
The main thing I’ve been working on in the last 3 months is Sazmining. They’re a company that aims to make “Bitcoin Mining as easy as setting up a Netflix subscription”. An admirable goal considering how inaccessible bitcoin mining feels for the general public.
I joined the team as a Senior Full Stack Developer. In lay-person’s terms, I build their website, their database, and their servers that facilitate payments and data transfer.
I couldn’t be happier. I love my job. Getting back into programming puts me on a course to eventually build a bitcoin or lightning network based application that solves a real-world problem…
Until then, I’m helping Sazmining with their mission. “Change the way that people relate to money and energy”.
Sazmining’s bitcoin facilities are exclusively powered by “green” and “renewable” sources. This includes solar, hydro, and methane capture. Our first facility of 350 rigs is going live in December. You can still buy rigs for this facility at $2,500 USD per rig. Thats actually a steal considering a year ago the same rigs were $10k USD. I’m likely to get 2 rigs for myself.

Future of this Newsletter
I intend on writing 1 newsletter per week for the foreseeable future. It will be free for everyone, in a “value for value” style. This means I’m going to ask for donations, and give you the means to easily donate to me.
If my content truly helps you, and provides you with value, then I encourage but not require you to give me some money so I can …
Know whats given you value
Produce more of the above
Become better at helping you my reader become better
Cheers,
Keegan
